Rachel keeps it perfect

When you are Rachel Atherton, just how do you top the fact that you have won all seven 2016 world cup downhill events? Easy (except it’s not of course) as you go and win the UCI Mountain Bike World Downhill Championships as well. This year they were held in Val di Sole Italy. And the win by Rachel means she has now won 5 World Champs. The records just keep on getting broken.
It wasn’t easy though at Val di Sole for the Team GB riders. Manon Carpenter suffered a broken collar bone when she went down, not that it seemed to slow Rachel Atherton up at all. At the end, the margin of victory was 3 seconds over France’s Myriam Nicole.
Criterium Cycles were there too!
Criterium Cycles very own Kenny Wintersgill was out in Val di Sole as a member of British Cycling tech team, supporting the riders in Team GB. Kenny will post a blog in the next few days sharing some of his experiences at this blue riband event.
Rachel Atherton rides a Trek Session 9.9 dh RSL (Race Shop Limited) similar to the one on the right!
